Forest, Coral Reef and Seagrass Community and Condition Mapping, Waste Management Planning, and Community Engagement - Pulau Banyak, Indonesia


Natura Consulting has an ongoing commitment with Yayasan Pulau Banyak, a local Indonesian non-Government organisation (NGO), in the Aceh region of Indonesia, in developing and implementing various programs such as:

  • Forest community and condition mapping to assist with the development and implementation of forest conservation planning, management, education and monitoring programs.
  • Coral reef and sea grass community and condition mapping to assist with the development and implementation of coral reef habitat management and monitoring for local sea turtle conservation strategies.
  • Environmental Management Plan incorporating management of Ecotourism, Fisheries, Conservation Areas and Restoration Areas for implementation by local Government authorities.
  • Waste Management Plan to assist with further development of environmental protection, social education and enhanced quality of ecotourism within the island group.

Natura Consulting is also developing a new program with Yayasan Pulau Banyak and a non-government organisation from the Gulf of Carpentaria in Australia to provide a cultural and education exchange between Australian Aboriginal Rangers and local Indonesian fisherman to help reduce international marine waste.
